In this regard, the current executive committee agrees in whole with the city with respect to this new mandatory background check policy. Above all, it is the responsibility of our executive committee to provide all of its members (coaches, managers, players and parents) at all levels with as much security as reasonably possible.
The executive committee has the right to overturn any bylaws and regulations within our charter. During the next AGA, this new policy, concerning mandatory background checks, will be proposed to the members for a vote with the intention of implementing this new policy for the 2018-2019 season. It will be important for members to vote on this policy change to our existing charter.
The call for candidacy for open positions will take place from March 14th to March 23rd and is open to all members. The positions to be filled are as follows:
There will be a form to be completed for anyone interested in submitting his or her candidacy for one of these positions. This form will then be sent to the authorities to perform the required criminal background check.
The AGA meeting will be held on April 24, 2018 at the Centre des Loisirs de Saint-Laurent. This year, we will be conducting the mandatory criminal background check for Canada and the U.S. for all committee members which in itself takes a minimum of 30 days to be completed, therefore, any persons wishing to submit their candidacy must complete and remit the above-mentioned form prior to March 23 at 8pm, no candidate form will be accepted after this date.
Please take note that members who wish to exercise their vote at the AGA must be in good standing, meaning, all fees must be paid prior to April 10, 2018.
